PRIVACY SUMMARY
Flight records stay on the device. Flight Time Recorder has no developer-operated flight-data server, sells no personal information, displays no ads, uses no advertising identifiers, and includes no third-party analytics SDK. You control deletion of local records.
ON-DEVICE DATA
Logbook entries, flight events, preferences, destinations, checklist state, aircraft information, simulator settings, route tracks, locally generated images, Hobbs, Tach, fuel values, reminders, and notes are stored in the app's iOS container. iSkyLabs does not receive a copy and provides no account or iSkyLabs cloud synchronization.
LOCATION AND BACKGROUND RECORDING
When permission is granted, GPS may be used to display or record position, altitude, speed, route, distance, ETE, and the aircraft trail. During an active flight, location updates may continue in the background or while the device is locked so tracking and automatic event detection can continue. Permission can be changed in iOS Settings; manual timing remains available without location.
APPLE WATCH COMPATIBILITY
Apple Watch and the paired iPhone may synchronize timer events, elapsed times, flight phase, destination, available METAR category, and reset commands through WatchConnectivity. iSkyLabs operates no server for this exchange and does not receive the synchronized information.
SIMULATOR AND LOCAL NETWORK
SimConnect/UDP is optional and intended only for simulation, training, and testing. When enabled, the app opens a local UDP port and may receive simulator position, altitude, heading, speed, pitch, and roll. The configured source IP is stored locally. UDP may be unencrypted or unauthenticated, so use it only on a trusted network and never for operating a real aircraft.
MAPS, WEATHER, AND AIRPORTS
Apple MapKit may process map and location requests. A selected airport may cause a public METAR request to AviationWeather.gov. Airport updates may use OurAirports data hosted through GitHub. These providers may receive the device IP address, requested airport or map area, request time, device characteristics, and standard network logs, including outside Quebec or Canada. Flight Time Recorder does not send the user's logbook, notes, or complete stored flight history to them. iSkyLabs does not receive provider logs. External information may be incomplete, delayed, outdated, unavailable, or subject to provider terms.
SUPPORT AND CORRESPONDENCE
If you email info@iskylabs.ca, iSkyLabs receives your email address, message, attachments, and related correspondence only to answer, provide support, handle privacy or legal matters, prevent abuse, and keep necessary business records. Correspondence is normally deleted or anonymized within 24 months after the matter closes unless a longer period is required for legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
SECURITY AND TRACKING
The app relies on the iOS sandbox and system data-protection controls. Supported public services use HTTPS when provided by those services. The app does not track activity across other companies' apps or websites. Apple may independently process App Store transactions, crash reports, or diagnostics according to Apple settings and policies. iSkyLabs maintains privacy-governance and incident-response procedures for information under its control.
RETENTION AND DELETION
Local records and preferences remain until you delete them with available app controls, reset the relevant feature, or delete the app. Cache and temporary files may remain until removed by iOS or the app. iSkyLabs cannot remotely delete or restore the on-device database.
YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
You may decline or revoke location and local-network permissions, avoid optional simulator and online-data features, manage local records with available controls, or delete the app. Privacy questions, access or correction requests, and complaints concerning information under iSkyLabs' control may be sent to info@iskylabs.ca.
